What you get

  • Chainsaw Flex — a Legendary animated pose usable with any playable character
  • Liquid Death banner and emblem
  • Liquid Death Skull banner and emblem
  • A Liquid Death icon

Xbox Wire describes Chainsaw Flex as a Legendary animated pose for any playable character. PCGamingWiki lists two banner-and-emblem sets, a standard Liquid Death one and a Skull version, both marked as time-limited and U.S.-only. That matches creators who reported getting two flags alongside the pose.

How to claim it, step by step

  1. Go to liquiddeath.com/freechainsaws.
  2. Enter your email and phone number.
  3. Connect your account with one of the participating retailers: Amazon, Target, Walmart, Instacart or Kroger.
  4. Buy any Liquid Death Energy, single can or multipack, through that retailer — online or in store.
  5. Wait for an email with your codes: one for Xbox and one for Steam.
  6. Redeem each code on its own platform.

The order matters for in-store purchases. You must connect your retailer account on the reward page before you buy in the shop, otherwise the purchase will not be linked. Xbox's own launch post summed it up as picking up a Liquid Death Energy and uploading your receipt to unlock the pose.

Redeeming the codes

On Xbox, redeem at redeem.microsoft.com while signed in to the Microsoft account you play on, or use the Redeem option in the Microsoft Store on console or in the Xbox app. On Steam, open the Games menu in the client, choose Activate a Product on Steam, and enter the Steam code.

The Xbox and Steam codes are not interchangeable. Use each one on its matching platform. Once redeemed, look for Chainsaw Flex in your poses and the banners and emblems in your customization menus.

Rules and fine print

  • U.S. only — players elsewhere cannot take part.
  • Only Liquid Death Energy qualifies; other Liquid Death drinks do not.
  • Purchases must be made through one of the five participating retailers.
  • One valid submission per person.
  • The offer ends at 11:59 PM PT on November 30, 2026.

Liquid Death Energy is described as having 5 calories, zero sugar and 100mg of caffeine. If you are sensitive to caffeine, keep that in mind before buying a multipack just for the promotion.

The Chainsaw Pint Glass

Liquid Death also released a Liquid Death × Gears of War Chainsaw Pint Glass, priced at $25 in the Liquid Death merch store. It is a limited-edition, officially licensed collectible. Xbox Wire emphasised that limited edition really does mean limited.

The glass is separate from the in-game rewards. Buying it does not give you the Chainsaw Flex pose; only Liquid Death Energy purchases do.

Leave yourself time before the deadline. Codes can take up to 10 days to arrive, so a purchase made in the last days of November may not deliver your code until December. The deadline applies to purchases and submissions, not to code delivery. Buying early also leaves time to sort out any problems.

Xbox, PC or Steam?

Every valid submission gives you both an Xbox code and a Steam code. The Xbox code works on Xbox consoles and the Xbox app on PC, through your Microsoft account. The Steam code is for the Steam version.

If you only play on one platform, you only need to redeem one code. Keep the email with both codes safe in case you switch platforms later. Our Steam page explains how the Steam version handles accounts.

Quick answers

  • Can I take part outside the U.S.? No, the offer is U.S.-only.
  • Do I need a multipack? No — a single can of Liquid Death Energy qualifies.
  • Does the regular Liquid Death water count? No, only Liquid Death Energy.
  • Can I claim twice? No, it is one valid submission per person.
  • Does the pint glass unlock the pose? No, only Energy purchases do.

Is it worth doing?

If you live in the U.S. and are happy to buy one can, it is the cheapest way to get a Legendary cosmetic in E-Day. A single can qualifies, and you get codes for both Xbox and Steam. Most other Legendary items come through paid editions or seasonal packs.

Liquid Death is using the tie-in to promote its energy drink line, so expect the offer to end on schedule. Compare it with the cosmetics in the Premium Edition, or see Mags Carter's unlockable skins on her character page.

Early launch hiccups

The promotion had a slightly rocky first day. One creator noted that an official news post explaining the process was taken down shortly after going live, which may have caused early confusion. The same creator found that linking worked on a phone browser when it failed on PC.

If you started the process early and something went wrong, it may be worth checking your registration details again. The code fix page covers what to try.
