Introduction
This Privacy Policy covers Gears of War: E-Day Wiki (“we”, “us”, “our”) at www.gearsofwar.site. We are a fan-made wiki and are not connected to Microsoft, Xbox Game Studios or The Coalition.
Information we collect
We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the site:
- Usage data — anonymous statistics such as pages viewed, time on page and referring sites.
- Device information — browser type, screen size and device category, used to improve layout and performance.
- Cookies and local storage — small files that remember preferences such as your light or dark theme, plus cookies that analytics providers may set.
We do not ask you to register, and we do not collect account credentials or payment details.
How we use information
- To run, maintain and improve the wiki.
- To learn which guides readers find most useful.
- To detect and block spam or abuse.
- To keep pages fast and reliable.
Third-party services
- Analytics — to understand traffic and how pages are used. These services may set cookies.
- Hosting and CDN — to serve pages quickly and securely.
- Advertising partners — where ads appear, to help keep the wiki free.
- Embedded video — trailers play inside our pages through YouTube's privacy-enhanced domain (youtube-nocookie.com). Nothing is loaded from YouTube until you press play; before that only a still cover image is shown.
Each service handles data under its own privacy policy.
Data sharing
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. We may share anonymised, aggregated statistics where needed to operate the site.
Data security
We use reasonable measures, including HTTPS, to protect data in transit. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
Your choices
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Opt out of analytics with browser privacy settings or extensions.
- Ask us what data relates to your visit.
- Read every page without starting an embedded video, so no video provider is contacted.
Children's privacy
This site is not aimed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Gears of War: E-Day itself is a mature-rated game.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows the latest revision.
